Getting to Know the Real Person

Too often when a man and woman meet, physical attraction draws them together before they get a chance to know each other on a deeper level.

Deliver by Christmas is sweet because it's a story about two hearts connecting before two people are officially introduced.  Molly and Josh chat on the phone in the middle of the night and bare their souls on subjects they avoid with other people.

Once Molly and Josh realize the person they are talking to on the phone is the same person they keep bumping into around town, they seal their budding relationship with a big kiss....in front of everyone....the first time they get together.

In a Hallmark movie, kissing someone you just met works.  In real life, we would probably clobber the person over the head.

Hallmark Celebrates the Military Yet Again

Every season, Hallmark never forgets to honor our veterans who are sacrificing holidays with their own families to keep us safe while we celebrate Christmas.

Volunteers in the town wrap gifts for soldiers for Operation Christmas, and Ho, Ho, Ho From the Homefront is a way for people to express their gratitude towards our military by recording videos to send to them overseas.  We even get a glimpse of uniformed soldiers watching the videos, and it's very stirring to the patriotic heart!

If you are looking to spread goodwill during the Christmas season, or any time of the year, consider reaching out to our military with some encouragement.  Whether you write a letter to a soldier or send a care package, our heroes love to know they are recognized and appreciated for their service and bravery.

Eion Bailey's Real-Life Biracial Marriage

Interestingly,  Eion Bailey not only plays a man involved in a biracial relationship onscreen, he also has been married for nearly 10 years to Weyni Mengesha, a producer and director.  They have two boys.  You can read about their love story here

Alvina August Can Sing--Will We Hear Her?

Hallmark delights fans by creating movies where the lead characters not only act, they can wow us with their musical talents, too.

Alvina August grew up in Zimbabwe, singing in her church choir and high school music groups in addition to writing songs with other musicians.  She even worked as a wedding singer!  You can find her music on iTunes and Spotify.

Let's hope Hallmark finds a role for her in the future where we can hear her sing!

Here's Alvina doing a cover of Justin Timberlake's song, Mirrors.
