Four days before Christmas, Elizabeth receives a voicemail from a number she doesn't recognize from a man who makes one final plea to the love of his life. Starring:  Holland Roden, Tyler Hynes, Tenille Townes  Image:  Hallmark Media Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas Is a Compelling Story The movie plot combines tragedy, triumph, love, and mystery--there's a lot going on to keep the viewer engaged.  Time for Him to Come Home for Christmas also uses my favorite trope:  The Misunderstanding . Elizabeth (Holland Roden), Josh (Tyler Hynes), and Andrew (David Lennon) have been best friends for years.   After college, Elizabeth has big plans to be a writer for The New York Times .  Three years later, she is working as an executive assistant at her mom's company instead of following her dreams. When a man accidentally leaves Elizabeth a voicemail asking the woman he loves to meet him at "their spot" on Christmas Eve, she is determined to follow the few clues s

Good Morning Christmas! Plot Summary Two quarreling television hosts feign civility during an assignment to report on a small town's Christmas celebrations, but something genuine starts to develop. Starring :  Alison Sweeney and Marc Blucas Image:  Crown Media Sweeney & Blucas Are Great Together There is absolutely nothing new to see here in terms of plot and merrymaking.  There are town Christmas contests, a tree lighting, ugly sweaters, ice skating, gingerbread houses, and a sleigh ride. Brian (Blucas) has a girlfriend, and the deputy mayor, James, has his eye on Melissa, so "light jealousy" is also on the menu.  Despite the echoes of so many past movie elements, Sweeney and Blucas have enough chemistry together to make their distinguishable from all the rest. Blucas could have a career in broadcasting--he's a natural.   After working together on their daily show and never getting along, Brian decides to call it quits, leaving Melissa to search for a new co-ho

The Christmas Contest Plot Summary Lara and Ben are exes who compete in a Christmas contest to win money for the charity of their choosing.  The city watches them battle to choose which is more important--victory or love. Starring:  Candace Cameron Bure, John Brotherton, and Barbara Niven Image:  Crown Media The Movie Is Based on a Book The Christmas Contest is based on the novel of the same name by Scarlet Wilson.  It has 4.4 out of 5 stars on Amazon, and reviewers say it is funny, engaging, heart-warming, and light. The spirit of the book matches the movie, but there are several differences.  The book's setting is Vermont, not Denver.  Lara and Ben are strangers, not exes.  Some of the contests are different, and the sponsor is a radio station, not a TV program. If you're a reader, you can find this seasonal romance here: Not One of Candace Cameron Bure's Best Candace Cameron Bure has a very loyal fan following.  Dubbed the Queen of Christmas , CCB's Hallmark movie
