Hallmark Released a Bumper Crop of Holiday Movies in 2019

In 2019, Crown Media released 39 new Christmas movies between the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.  Fans were elated!  

Each year, Hallmarkies and Christmas movie addicts eagerly await for the end of October to roll around because this is when new Hallmark Christmas movies start premiering before the networks transition to 24/7 holiday streaming.  



How Many Times Did You Watch Each 2019 Movie?

Social media was abuzz in 2019 with fans gushing over their favorite new Hallmark Christmas releases, many claiming to watch each movie multiple times.  Our families were rationed space on the DVR because some of us couldn't keep up with the rapid release of so many new movies.

Facebook groups began popping up so fans could unite and share their love of Hallmark movies, not just during the holiday season, but all year long.

When the 2020 pandemic rocked the entire world, Hallmark responded with a We Need a Little Christmas movie marathon to boost sagging spirits, since many of us were stuck at home.  Some fans even decorated their houses for Christmas to encourage their neighbors, and Hallmark urged them to post the pics on social media with the hashtag #weneedalittlechristmas.

The Hallmark Christmas movie marathons, plus Hallmark's pledge to air one Christmas movie each week on both channels, means we've all had several opportunities to view the 2019 Christmas releases we may have missed the first time.

Starring:  Erica Durance, Brennan Elliott, and Barabara Niven  Image:  Hallmark Media Barbara Niven Delivers Top-Notch Performance Move over, Santa, because MS. CHRISTMAS is coming to town! Barbara Niven is stellar in her role of Gale Storm--the woman who, for 24 years, has been selling merchandise every holiday season on HSC (Holiday Shopping Channel). Ms. Christmas oozes more sweetness than a hot chocolate bomb, even when she receives bad news about her declining health. While many of us might be tempted to wallow in despair following a terminal diagnosis, Ms. Christmas decides to focus on making it the best year yet for her loyal viewers by taking her show on the road.  Think of that--using time wisely to do good deeds in the time you have left.  If only we approached everyday life with this kind of attitude!
