REVIEW: The Hallmark Sequel "Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up" Is as Silly as the First One

Emily and Jared are looking forward to celebrating the holidays together as a couple, and they prepare to work with their neighbors on Evergreen Lane to make this year's Christmas celebrations the best yet.  When a house on the block goes up for sale, the soon-to-be-neighbors are holiday royalty, but they are so competitive that they nearly ruin Christmas for everyone. These Great American Family Christmas Movies Are Now Available on DVD!

Start Your Great American Family DVD Collection!

Bill Abbott, former CEO of Hallmark Channel, launched GAC Family channel in the Fall of 2021.  Since then, the fledgling network has been steadily building a library of new and original content while supplementing their schedule with previously aired (but new to the network) rom-coms.

On August 20, 2022, GAC rebranded as Great American Family.   

Fans are flocking to the network to enjoy clean, family-friendly entertainment.  Many have been anxious for their favorite movies to be released to DVD, and to date, six original Christmas movies from 2021 are now available.

Much Ado About Christmas

Susie Abromeit and Torrance Coombs star in this beautifully staged love story between a charitable, wealthy heiress pretending to be ordinary, and a hopeless romantic who learns her secret when pitching an ad campaign to her mother.  Haley's motive for the nondisclosure is her desire to be loved for herself, not her money, but Claud feels betrayed by her lack of trust and honesty. Cleverly written by Michael and Janeen Damian as a homage to Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, this movie will sweep you away with Christmas spirit!


A Kindhearted Christmas

Cameron Mathison has won the hearts of millions of fans who remember him from Hallmark's Home & Family and other lighthearted romances.  Mathison plays opposite Jennie Garth in this movie about the power of anonymous generosity.  A businesswoman quietly meets the needs of several members of the community, but when a journalist latches onto the story, she worries she'll be exposed.  

A Christmas Miracle for Daisy

Jill Wagner never disappoints because she can always create chemistry with any co-star, in this case, Nick Bateman.  Wagner plays Whitney, an interior designer with a job that makes her uncomfortable--she's tasked with redesigning a landmark home for the new owner, who just happens to be her ex-boyfriend.  Connor has adopted his goddaughter, Daisy, and Daisy wants nothing more than a mom for Christmas to complete their family.  



Royally Wrapped for Christmas

Royal movies are always a huge hit, and this one is no different!  Jen Lilley stars opposite Brendan Fehr in this story about a New York director of an international charity organization vying for a new position that would allow her to oversee the entire world-wide operation.  She must travel to the Kingdom of Veronia and go through an arduous process with her competitors before the royal family makes their pick, and she falls in love with the prince along the way.

Christmas Is You

Becca Tobin and Matthew MacCaull join hearts and voices in this movie about two people who parted ways after high school to pursue musical careers but find each other again.  Now, Tyler is a famous popstar and Emma is an assistant at a record company who needs to sign him to her label.  While she juggles saving the town's annual Christmas caroling celebration, she and Tyler rekindle their feelings for each other, but when he discovers her true motive for being in town, it could ruin everything.

Jingle Bell Princess

Merritt Patterson and Trevor Donovan fans will be enchanted by this love story of a princess who gets stranded in a small town and is taken into the Cutler home until the airport reopens so she can catch a flight home.  While Princess Amelia tries to act ordinary, she is obviously quite sophisticated, and the more time she and Sam spend together, the more they move toward happily-ever-after!

Everything is on an app these days, including the Hallmark Christmas in July 2023 movie schedule. Starring:  Erica Durance, Brennan Elliott, and Barabara Niven  Image:  Hallmark Media Barbara Niven Delivers Top-Notch Performance Move over, Santa, because MS. CHRISTMAS is coming to town! Barbara Niven is stellar in her role of Gale Storm--the woman who, for 24 years, has been selling merchandise every holiday season on HSC (Holiday Shopping Channel). Ms. Christmas oozes more sweetness than a hot chocolate bomb, even when she receives bad news about her declining health. While many of us might be tempted to wallow in despair following a terminal diagnosis, Ms. Christmas decides to focus on making it the best year yet for her loyal viewers by taking her show on the road.  Think of that--using time wisely to do good deeds in the time you have left.  If only we approached everyday life with this kind of attitude!
